And they¹re off. The horses break from away from the starter¹s flag, and jockeys settle their mounts and prepare for the first fence. Swoosh. They¹re up, over, and heading for more. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. Listen as the horses gallop over the miles of lush turf and look for an edge.

Hooray! Cheer for your favorite as he angles for the lead and the jockey looks for more, just yards from the finish line. And the winner is . . . Pleasantly exhausted, horse and jockey head to the winner¹s circle to collect victory¹s spoils including annual prize money worth nearly $5 million.

The real winner in steeplechase horse racing is the fan. Spectators get a show rivaling college basketball for excitement, baseball for history, and a Broadway play for class. All while providing the perfect social backdrop for any occasion.

America¹s 35 steeplechase meets happen in some of of the country¹s best places: Atlanta, Charlotte, Lexington, Louisville, Nashville, Tampa, Richmond, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, northern New Jersey and so on. And steeplechasing stops at some of America¹s finest racetracks. All are perfect places to enjoy a weekend outdoors with friends, family, and a new favorite sport.

Members of the National Steeplechase Association have it good. Not only do they follow one of America¹s most exciting sports, they do it from the inside thanks to great member benefits. NSA members receive:

• Free admission for two to all NSA meets and steeplechase days at host racetracks.
• A quarterly newsletter designed with the member in mind.

Regular Member. $150 annual dues.  Includes all the benefits listed above.

Patron. $500 Benefits of Patron membership include a complimentary copy of the NSA's annual yearbook, American Steeplechasing; distinctive Patron and guest pins for admission to all NSA sanctioned race meetsand steeplechase days at major race tracks; NSA horseman's parking pass; benefits of the NTRA's Group Purchasing program discounts; invitations to special events; the right to vote in the NSA's Board of Directors election (or serve on the Board).

Historian. $1000
