Bio: Birthdate: March 7, 1935. Home: Cochranville, Pa. Champion: 1996. Leading Earner: 1995, 2000. Eclipse Award Winners: All Gong (2000), Lonesome Glory (1999, 1997, 1995, 1993, 1992). Trainer of five-time champion and Hall of Famer Lonesome Glory. In 2009, had a big day at Iroquois, where Pierrot Lunaire won the Iroquois (Gr. 1) and Dynaskill took the Margaret Currey Henley Stakes. Approaching $7 million in career earnings. Trained 2000 champion All Gong as well as standouts Uptown Swell, Serenity Prayer, Make Me a Champ, Popular Gigalo and Darby Sky. Won three consecutive runnings of Noel Laing (2005-’07) with veteran Mon Villez. Son Chip and daughter Blythe won jockey championships, and each passed the 200-win plateau. Won first race with Burnt Chips at Fair Hill, Md., in 1971.
