Jacqueline Ohrstrom's Demonstrative, the 2010 NSA three-year-old champion, won the $70,000 William Entenmann Novice Stakes at Belmont Park in July. Valentine had purchased his first champion in midsummer 2010 in England for the owner. Moved up the trainer leader board in 2010 to rank fifth by wins with seven from 44 starts and earnings of $107,440. Converted flat standout Understood to steeplechase stakes winner in 2003. Trains primarily for the Ohrstrom family's Whitewood Farm. Spent time in Ireland with major trainer Mouse Morris. Won first race with Fassfern at Willowdale, Pa., in 1997.
