Jacqueline Ohrstrom’s Demonstrative, the reigning Eclipse Award winner, will be inducted into the Aiken Thoroughbred Hall of Fame on March 15. The multiple Grade 1 winner will be the 40th racehorse inducted into the Hall of Fame at the South Carolina center of Thoroughbred training.
Demonstrative qualified for the Aiken shrine by winning an Eclipse Award and training there. Trained by Richard Valentine, he swept to the 2014 Eclipse Award with three consecutive Grade 1 victories, in the New York Turf Writers Cup at Saratoga Race Course, the Lonesome Glory Handicap at Belmont Park, and the Grand National at Far Hills, N.J.
He trained at Aiken in 2011 after taking down the National Steeplechase Association’s three-year-old championship in 2010. He will be inducted into the Aiken Hall of Fame in ceremonies at Hopeland Gardens.
