The National Steeplechase Association will be participating in a new attraction in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., the first edition of the Equestricon convention. For all racing fans, it’s a must-go event over the next few days.
Equestricon kicks off Sunday, and the NSA’s exhibit will be up and running at the Saratoga Springs City Center, 522 Broadway, on Monday and Tuesday. The NSA’s Equestricon activities are under the supervision of Courtney C. Reid, the NSA’s racing operations coordinator.
The NSA booth will feature the many aspects of jump racing. In addition to a video display, visitors will be greeted by a colorful banner depicting the sport’s excitement.
Besides information on jump racing, Equestricon visitors will have something to take away with them and a chance to win one of the hottest tickets in all of horse racing.
The takeaway will be a post-card-sized refrigerator magnet containing the NSA’s racing lineup at Saratoga and Belmont Park as well as the fall schedule.
A drawing will be held for two tickets to the 97th edition of the Far Hills Races in New Jersey on Saturday, Oct. 21. Always a sellout, the Far Hills Races will offer $800,000 in total purses this year and will feature the year’s richest jump race, the $400,000 Grand National (Gr. 1). The tickets are courtesy of the Far Hill Race Meeting Association.
In addition to exhibits, Equestricon will offer panels, workshops, autograph signings, and other activities. For more information, including hours and ticketing, visit the Equestricon website at equestricon.com.
