The membership of the National Steeplechase Association elected five directors at the organization’s annual meeting in Camden, S.C., on Friday, Nov. 14.
New to the board are Virginia Lazenby and Alfred C. Griffin Jr. Mrs. Lazenby, a horse owner, is managing member and chief executive of Bretagne LLC, a Nashville-based oil and gas production company she founded in 1988. Dr. Griffin is the director of racing for the Virginia Gold Cup’ and the International Gold Cup.
Re-elected to three-year terms on the 15-member board were W. Patrick Butterfield, longtime director of the Foxfield Racing Association, and Donald Yovanovich, a Virginia horseman who has served as chairman of the NSA’s Race Chairmen’s Committee.
Rejoining the Board of Directors after a one-year absence was Charles W. Strittmatter, who owns Clorevia Farm in Virginia and served as the NSA’s treasurer.
