A few reservations still are available for the Go Jump Racing Saratoga Hospitality Tent, a unique opportunity to present our sport to potential horse owners at racing’s premier summer meet.
It’s a full afternoon of food, drink, and good company next Wednesday in the air-conditioned At the Rail Tent on Saratoga Race Course’s clubhouse turn. Television monitors and betting windows are available in the tent, and the afternoon’s racing kicks off with an allowance hurdle.
Also featured will be a new video produced by HCP Sports that provides a fresh look at jump racing for flat-racing owners looking for a first second career for their horses.
The Go Jump Racing Saratoga Tent is a project of the National Steeplechase Association’s Promotion and Growth Task Force, with the support of the National Steeplechase Foundation and the NSA. Cost is $100 per person, and potential owners and trainers from flat racing are admitted free.
Two leaders of the flat-racing community who are steeplechase owners, Ken Ramsey and Cot Campbell, have indicated that they will be at Go Jump Racing Hospitality Tent. Both have had Eclipse Award winners on the flat and over fences.
“We have a remarkable opportunity to grow our sport during the biggest week of racing at America’s premier summer racetrack,” said Bill Price, chair of the Promotion and Growth Task Force.
“This is the week of the New York Turf Writers Cup over fences and the Travers Stakes. With this built-in audience, we will present the many positive aspects of jump racing to a highly focused audience of flat owners and trainers. We need our owners under the tent to tell their stories,” said Price, a horse owner and co-chair of the Queen’s Cup Steeplechase in Charlotte.
Reservations can be made by calling the NSA office at (410) 392-0700 or e-mailing to RSVP@nationalsteeplechase.com. For further information, contact Bill Price at (704) 621-3001.
