The High Hope Steeplechase informed the National Steeplechase Association on Aug. 30 that it would be unable to conduct its meet scheduled for Sept. 22 but intended to resume the historic meet in 2020.
“We were disappointed to learn that the High Hope Steeplechase Association has canceled its 2019 race meet,” NSA President Guy J. Torsilieri said. “High Hope and steeplechase horsemen in Kentucky’s Blue Grass region have long been important participants in our sport. We are heartened that the leaders of the High Hope Steeplechase have told us that they plan to resume the meet in 2020.”
Michelle Primm, High Hope’s director of racing, thanked the meet’s supporters. We are working diligently to bring a new and improved race day to the 2020 calendar,” she said. “Keep ‘racin’ and chasin’,”and we will see you in 2020!”
