Teddy Alexander’s Kisser N Run, making his first start over fences, overtook Class Launch to win the featured $15,000 maiden hurdle for fillies and mares at the 35th annual Foxfield Fall Races in Charlottesville, Va., on Sunday, Sept. 30. The first two finishers both were trained by Lilith Boucher.
Kisser N Run, ridden by Paddy Young, began her move on the final turn, ran past pacesetting Class Launch, and drew clear to a 2 1/4-length victory. Mede Cahaba Stable’s Class Launch, ridden by Richard Boucher, finished 7 1/4 lengths ahead of William Backer’s Lonesome and jockey Darren Nagle. Kisser N Run, a two-time winner on the flat at Colonial Downs earlier this year, ran the 2 1/8 miles over National Fences in 4:14.20 on firm turf.
