Horsemen’s Invitational Steeplechase Trials will be held Sunday, April 9, at Shawan Downs in Cockeysville, Md. First post time is 2 p.m., and at least two races on the program.
A hurdle trial over 1 7/8 miles and 12 National Fences was carded, with jockeys carrying catch weights. Also scheduled is a 1 7/8-mile amateur flat race at catch weights.
Demand will determine the number of how many heats of each race will be run. The hurdle race is limited to no more than 10 starters, and the flat race will be capped at 15 starters in each heat.
Entries will be taken on the Shawan Downs webpage, www.shawandowns.org, and entries close at noon on Wednesday, April 5. Entry fee is $125.
