Guy J. Torsilieri, co-chair of the Far Hills Races in New Jersey, was elected Friday to his sixth term as president of the National Steeplechase Association. The election of the president and other NSA officers occurred at the winter meeting of the NSA Board of Directors at Herndon, Va.
Re-elected as vice president was Doug Fout, a Virginia-based trainer and president of the Middleburg Spring Race Committee.
Beverly R. Steinman, a longtime owner and supporter of American Steeplechasing, was elected as the NSA’s chairman. The Lancaster, Pa., businesswoman also serves as chairman of the Carolina Cup Racing Association.
W. Patrick Butterfield, director of the Foxfield Spring and Foxfield Fall meets in Charlottesville, Va., was elected secretary, and Iroquois Steeplechase Chairman Dwight Hall was elected treasurer. The officers will serve one-year terms.
